Possible iPad 3 this year
2011-07-29
According to a dispatch by Digitimes, Apple has concluded deals with assorted Taiwan-based element makers in the hope of lowering the price point for the following iPad. Makers referred to in the report include Novatek Microelectronics, Richtek Technology, Capella Microsystems and Integrated Memory Logic. These firms will provide integrated circuits for the new generation iPad at a good price point according to industry sources. In contrast to prior reports the iPad three would be a high end model, the following iPad's possible lower price point would permit it to take on the range of low cost rivals which will hit the market in the seconds 1/2 2011. The other chance is less expensive circuitry to deal with the more costly Apple retina display that can find itself in the iPad three. If this is the case, the iPad three could launch at the present generation iPad two price tag which is pretty high when put next to the competition.
